who does this guy think he is?

I’m sitting here trying to figure out what I can tell you about me that you can’t find out from my LinkedInTwitter, or about.me page. But I think I’ve figured it out, why don’t I tell you a little about me aside from the whole business aspect of it? It’s important to know people from the inside out, instead of outside in, am I right or amirite?

Frankly, I’m the probably the most obnoxious person you’ll ever meet. I’m never the most intelligent person in the room, my face doesn’t make heads turn, and my corny jokes are usually only laughed at by one person, me. Now with that being said, you may wonder, “Well what’s the big deal about this Kuuuumarrrr looking guy then?”

Nothing, absolutely nothing is the big deal about me unfortunately. However there are few small deals about me that I’d like to share with you.

  1. I’m never the most intelligent person in the room, but I’ll be damned if I’m not one of the hardest working in the room.
  2. I may not turn heads, but a 30 second conversation with me and my bright cheesy smile (with a dimple that I heavily use to my advantage) might leave you charmed and wanting more.
  3. My corny jokes probably lead people to laugh at me, rather with me. But the fact that I’m always laughing, always wanting to be happy, and always smiling ear to ear is very, very contagious. Once you catch my disease, you’ll never want a cure.

I’m always looking to meet new people and learn something new from them. Every person is an intellectual to me in some way, whether it be a plumber that has the knowledge to unclog my always clogged toilet, or my mother who has the recipes to cook amazing Biryani that’s to die for. A lot of the reason I am who I am today is because I’ve surrounded myself with successful and genuine people, all of whom I have acquired knowledge, traits, and attributes from. In some ways, I try my best to be collection of all the good I have around me, so I thank my family and friends for being great inspirations to look up to.

My life early on wasn’t quite what a normal life would entail. Struggle was always evident growing up, tragedies occurred very early on, and often days would go by where the future didn’t seem too bright. But there was one hope that was always driving me, it was the hope to provide my mother and my sister with a better life after my father suddenly passed. After all, if my mother worked so hard to feed the family, what gives me an excuse to not work just as hard as her? Not many teenagers are handed a family to take care of without warning. Hoop dreams were put on hold and play time was over, it was time to get serious. I worked my ass off every single day since then to ensure that my family never had to go through hard times ever again, and I still continue that. They are my driving force. And while all of my friends were out partying and enjoying their college experience, I was at home working 20 hour days to build a stable future for my family. But save your tears as I did, and instead use them to fuel your dreams as I am.

In a nutshell, I highly believe in my abilities and I take calculated risks. I surrounded myself with people whom I admire and people that genuinely want to see me succeed. I abandon any negative thoughts or people that try to bring me down. I strive to remain humble and never forget the times where we didn’t have much. I walk around this city with an open mind and open heart. And lastly, I realize that I am human and that I will make many mistakes, but it’s how I respond to those mistakes that will define who I am.
